Gynecological Services in Olympia Fields, IL

A gynecologist isn’t just for when you’re pregnant. Duni Women’s Healthcare, serving Olympia Fields, IL and the surrounding area, offers a range of women’s services such as routine examinations and birth control. We offer STD testing and can also treat urinary tract infections (UTIs). We even help women who suffer from issues with their menstrual cycles.

Routine Examinations

We advise women to come to our office once yearly for a routine examination. Initially, we ask you about your personal medical history as well as family medical history. The next part of your appointment consists of a doctor examining the outside portion of your vagina. We look at the vulva and the vaginal opening to detect any abnormalities.

While your knees are bent and your feet are still in stirrups, our gynecologist will conduct a thorough internal examination using a speculum to hold open the vagina. We view inside of your vagina as well as the cervix.

Pap Smears

During your exam, we’ll take a swab of the cells in your vaginal walls to evaluate them for abnormalities. How we proceed depends on your results. For instance, we may need to perform another test to determine if you have HPV. If you have low-grade pre-cancerous cells, we may just need to monitor you. On the other hand,we might need to refer you to a specialist if you have high-grade pre-cancerous cells.

Gynecological Problems

We help women who suffer from gynecological problems like irregular periods, severe cramping, or heavy menstrual periods. Our practitioner can determine why you have bleeding in between periods, a burning sensation during urination, or pain in your pelvic area. After we determine the problem, we’ll then find a solution for you.

Birth Control

At our office, we assist women in preventing pregnancy on a short or long-term basis, depending on your needs and wants. We discuss your options and explain the pros and cons of each option, so you can select the best course of action for you.
We prescribe birth control to women who have certain gynecological problems like heavy periods or severe cramping. We use birth control to regulate your period if you have irregular menstrual cycles.

STD and Urinary Tract Infection Treatment

If you have burning when you urinate, you may have a urinary tract infection (UTI). We may prescribe an antibiotic that can correct the problem. You can request STD testing, or we may give you STD testing if we suspect you have an STD. The test may consist of a blood test or a urinalysis. Depending on the results of your test, we may prescribe an antibiotic to treat the problem. We’ll provide you with education on how you can prevent STDs in the future.

Pregnancy Testing

Whether you were trying to get pregnant or not, you want to know if you’re expecting a child as soon as possible. You may come to our office before your missed period to have a pregnancy test conducted. We provide you with accurate testing that can help you know if you’re pregnant or not before you miss your period.

Non gynecological Testing

At our office, we do more than just provide gynecological services. We help women manage their general health concerns such as heart disease, diabetes, and hypertension. We have the ability to detect these issues and then provide medications as well as lifestyle advice to manage your condition.
